Cheap "prep" saved my bacon last night
« on: September 02, 2017, 05:09:48 AM »
Locked up at work last night and went to my car.

Click.click.click...DAMN..dead battery.

Have jumper cables,but everyone gone.

I'm single,and kinda a handyman,so my whole car is a rolling BOB.

Pulled out my extension cord and battery charger, but no outlets outside.

No problem,I had one of those things you screw into a light socket that has a plug on it also.Unscrewed one of the security floodlights, hooked it all up,put tape over the light sensor to turn it on.20 minutes later I was on my way.

I'm not proud of it,but I was homeless for a while..lived in my car, then a garage for a while.I learned all sorts of "hacks" by necessity.

Anyways, with the threat of evacuating from a hurricane...a ex. cord, power strip, and one of those thingys might come in use,ya never know. That also reminds me,I want to order one of those 4 way keys that turn on outdoor faucets that have no handles...think they are 5 bucks on e-bay.

Ya'll have a great weekend, burn some chit on the grill and have a few cervazas O0

Adjust... Adapt... and Overcome....

As long as we have that attitude and skill set, any situation large or small is doable.

Hahaha,  I came for the bacon too!

Nice moves Mr. Cook.

I was never homeless but my home was a car once for about three months....

Good stuff. Unfortunately, not enough of us have the skills or the knowledge.
It should be our duty to teach others how to do it.....
