This is something I have been working on far about a year now, and am just now ready to share. It is a plan meant for well after the shtf, and is a way to find fellow patriots. What I do is go to the library and find their copy of the constitution, in that book I place instructions on how to find me: the instructions read something like on tuesday at sunrise at the blockbuster located at the intersection of A & B. The hope is to help find new people that prior arrangements haven't been made with. For safety, this will be a weekly patrol route and it will let me be the one that decides if we are going to link up with them. It also let me observe the area before they get there to see if they are a trap of some kind. I know this isn't a perfect plan, but it's what I'm using for a long term collapse situation. Please understand that the entire plan is not reviled here for security purposes.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Very nice, I like it...
Maybe instead of, at the intersection of A&B, since they have been prepping for a bit, took in some knowledge on stuff needed like:
" Longitude & Latitude" (They would have to have some form of finding it from reading a map)
"Meet you inside for a Pepsi on Tuesdays at Sunrise"
Just a thought of coding the words for any normal person to look at it & think, "Rubbish, move on, next" if they happen to accidentally run across it...
When you say fellow patriots, you mean Survivalist/Preppers, or just Patriots??
Awesome idea....

Is being a Survivalist/Preppers mutually exclusive to being a Patriots?
I mean patriot. If they weren't prepared and have made it through the toughest time, and find the message then they deserve a look.

Actually, that's a good point... They make it that long, they are all of the above & then some!

This is an awesome idea and an awesome thread in general. Great plan, but it only helps people who check things out in the library. My thought is, many of us survival types will get out of sight and stay that way. We will only seek you out if we need rescue, or aid, that's human nature. I wish I could think of a signal that could be seen or heard by passerby while not compromising op-sec for either party.

Good Idea but. You're plan revolves on a structure being intact. Also you said well after SHTF. How long after? Is it still safe to travel the road ways? Is our travel restricted? Do we have access to that building without breaking in? I think you might want to think about different way to notify people. More public but a less simplified message. Think more along the lines of CIA style dead drops.

Trying to put myself & my family in my mind in this setting... We probably wouldn't go near libraries because they are to close to the city; thinking long term, the cities will be a death trap, a new wasteland...
There will be a ton of "solo" survivors looking for a somewhat same group for various reasons.. Looking for aid, looking for protection, a safe haven for what safety will be at that time...
Great plan for bringing them together, to get that knowledge of stuff working, rebuilding, resources, information, defending & etc... But I think the whole in a book at a location that might be, or not be standing is maybe a un-reliable source... Thinking of people moving around in weird area's, dodging sight of others, staying low, etc...
If I was in a weird location, not to sure of my surrounding's because I'm trying to evade, be out of sight, maybe I won't go to a library...
So, then I started thinking, what would I be looking for, what would make me curious of others reaching out... Maybe take a chance for a safe haven...
Could be used anywhere, easy to communicate, I could even put that message out, make it adaptable to where I might be (Who knows in a real long term event), just simple enough that the common eye wouldn't catch it...
The insignia of the forum; big "S" with semi-looking FL lines; with an arrow underneath... Then I find another one, with an arrow pointing in a direction, then another... I then run into one with an "X" under it... "X" marks the spot.... I know from many conversations with like minded people and being semi-involved with a forum like this and networking with others in my state of the like mind; that every Friday at sun up, patriots will be watching for the marked spot... It was relatively easy for the "Meet UP" point... But now comes the hard part...
What's the code of conduct here??? If we met before on a camp-out, or a get together, I am vaguely familiar; that might be an indication that I'm a friendly or a patriot... We can start to talk before anyone goes anywhere together...
But what if it two patriots that never crossed path's face to face??? Who put's down their weapon first, am I being trapped, am I trapping them, is it safe, why would I take a leap of faith, why would they???
In my soul, I believe if people don't band together, start networking, start getting a little friendly & getting involved in the conversations here or any forum they are just stuck ducks in the mud... The SHTF, they will be the lone survivor that will be eaten by bigger ducks sooner or later for their preps, ammo, and anything else worth dying for to live... They are just buying time in the first quarter of the game, when the teams get bigger than a few, they will be out played quickly... More goalies at the goal, with less players running in the field; it is inevitable, you will not survive a long term SHTF! The people that are not just forum jumpers or lurkers, or have an idea this week that they are going to "prep" or become a "survivalist", or actually put some time & thought into it knows they will not survive being Mad Max, or Running Bunny of three dodging & hiding in every nook & cranny... They know they have to start surviving for tomorrow somehow, versus running for today...
So, back to the stand off at the "X", there would have to be some common code of conduct that is safe for both parties involved... Gonna have to think this one out...
Any idea's, anyone???

I agree with Roscoe about the dead drop idea. A symbol with coordinates, an address like an intersection or a well known landmark could be left surreptitiously at a location. The spot would have to be far enough away from your hide so as not to compromise op sec. It would also have to be close enough and familiar enough so that you wouldn't be compromising yourself to get there but you could watch from a safe distance. Part of the original message could be to leave another message at this location. While you scope out anyone who comes along and see if they look trustworthy, you can also determine if their intentions are honorable. Do they come heavily armed (not an immediate disqualifier, all of us will be heavily armed)? Come in a group? Do they sneak to a hidey hole themselves to scope out the drop point? If they leave a message and leave, then after you have determined it is safe to gather the message, take it from there. We will be forced to trust somebody but you have to trust your instincts. If it doesn't feel right, don't go through with the meet. If you have backup then they could provide overwatch while you make the face to face. If the initial dealings go well, you arrange to meet at a neutral spot until further notice. No bringing home company for dinner, you could end up on the menu. If Ham radio or other means of comm's is available to both parties then you could arrange to hail one another on a certain frequency or channel (preferably one with little other traffic that you don't want to show up). YMMV

Hold up 2 finger in a peace sign, and then cross your fingers like for luck which is also the sign of the Cross/Christ/unity.For a code one person could say;"Peace and unity",and the other person would say;"For like minded under the cross". Just something I've mulled about since I joined here.Matt

Nice ride! That would be a great GOOD vehicle. I agree that we have got to start meeting in groups now. If you were to encounter another person post-SHTF use the common sense guidelines in Patriots. Sit down for a chat, if you are on their ground be honest in your answers. If they are on yours don't be overbearing, let them feel at ease and not threatened. You'll get better intel. Trust works both ways in this one. If someone really wants to be part of your group they'll follow the rules. USE YOUR INSTINCTS, you'll be surprised how good they are when your A.. is on the line. If we link up now perhaps a challenge/answer as suggested above will become widespread enough in the community to be useful.

While I know my plan isn't perfect, and I did welcome all the input, I applaud everyone for their opening up their minds. We need these kind of answers now before TSHTF to be effective later. This is just another area that needs to be planned out as a part of your preps.

Was thinking about flares too yesterday, but I think the sheeple would go towards them, right??
Even if they learned to stay out of sight, they would probably go towards a flare..
Thoughts???

Flares are great for distracting people away from where you are, but they will bring the good the bad and the ugly right to where the flare was fired from. I have been thinking about getting a bullhorn. Think about it, you want to approach a building and you don't want any trouble. As long as you don't expect trouble, you should let any people in that building know that they don't have to defend themselves from you. In some cases this could be very dangerous. But I really don't want to get in a firefight with someone just like me who is just trying to survive. And think about it the other way 'round. You are in a building and someone is approaching. You could tell them to leave or disarm themselves before it comes to bloodshed. I don't want to make any widows or orphans. My true goal is to handle anything without firring a shot.
