Has anyone tried this??  It sound like a good idea for winter in a bug out situation.

"No CO" - hmmm.....  I have to wonder about that.  Having an open flame in the car would make me nervous too........    Still, if in the muntains and stuck in the snow, it could be very useful.  Wearing good insulated clothing and having the "chemical heater packs" stuffed iside would be safer.  The larger packs will keep heating up to 18 hours or more - I have used them.  NO fumes or odor, or open flame!

A 'mini' version of this idea using cleaned out sterno or woodstain cans (similar 'paint can' lids) would be good for carry in a BOB or on a bike for use as a camp stove.
