New parking restrictions

I saw these signs at a service plaza on the turnpike on our way to Orlando yesterday. As a mom, I get the reserved for mother's parking. I get the handicapped parking. I kind of get the employee of the month idea. But reserving parking because of your carbon foot print is kinda stupid IMO.

The first one says, "Reserved - carpool and vanpool parking only"
("Vanpool" are people who carpool using vans so stupid that they need to create a new word?)

The second one says, "Reserved parking - low-emitting/fuel efficient vehicles only"

just like the employee of the month spot, that is never used, you can't get any kind of ticket for parking there if its on private property , not sure about the TPK service plaza, but you could always just park sideways across the handicapped space like the German tourists do

OMG!  Of all the stupid parking reservations, this is the stupidest I have ever seen!  I don't mind parking away from wherever I am going, unless the weather is totally crappy.  However, the next time I see one of these I may park there just to keep some enviro-commie nazi out of it.  Oh, wait, since I have a low emitting fuel efficient ride, I am supposed to park there.  So maybe I will run into the sign a few times by "accident" and if I can't knock it down, at least dent it enough so it can't be read.

I wonder how much this piece of stupidity cost...

I love to watch folks circle the parking lot several times trying to park right next to the door, then go into the fitness center and spend an hour on the treadmill.  What is the matter with people???

I would happily pay any ticket involved just so I could park my silverado in front of that 'low-emissions' sign and take a picture!
