Okay this is a bit of a spin off thread. Reading through the "Walmart stores closing" thread. The saw this "report", and whatnot.
I'll get to the point, since I do trust many of y'all's opinions, when it comes to "news outlets" who do you trust? MSNBC, Fox, aljawhatsit America, anybody, or nobody? Maybe you have a group of sources that if something appears on two or three of them you consider it valid?

I watch FOX and MSNBC . I then research what they say(if Im interested) and attempt to divine the actual truth. Alas, my level of mysticism aint what it once was!

I trust none of them completely.
In fact, I used to really trust my elders. But then this one guy started telling me that every bird I saw was a hawk of some kind...........

Used to Fox, sometimes. Now, not so much them either. They all are a bunch of liars. Just out for ratings. The truth does not figure in....

5% Truth to anything put out in the News..... There isnt a saying for the internet.... Perhaps 2.5% sounds about right....

You actually have to do a search for what you are looking for.
How many have searched the following
#1 China, Russia
#2 China, Russia, Iran
#3 China, Russia, Iran, North Korea
If you are not aware, you might be interested to know that Greece is actually about to join the Chinese Bank. My thoughts on this is our economy is about to crap out. As Out Own Government is considering joining the Chinese Bank as well...
There are such things as the G5 the G5+ the B.R.I.C.S. Nations... You need to start looking at these things if you have no already.
The G5+ recently had a discussion about the Russians selling the S300 missiles to Iran. Do you know those countries are? Interesting to see who is on that, yet they are bitching.... Its all a show, because "WE" do not pay attention to what is going on. We are screwed, its just a matter of how and when.

Some online sources, local news ,BBC, few emails try factoid checking... but with everything ive noticed there is a ton of info. Take some with a grain of sand or salt. Check it with some other forums, an people.
Just like the confusing reports that say Osama bin Laden was dead before the seals killed a look alike, an al-Qaida didn't have a hand in it. Sometimes info wont ever be solidly known...

The media is probably the biggest reason why I swore off television. When something sparks my interest I use the multiple source maneuver. Basically you add up all the bias and divide by the bullshit throw pi somewhere in there and you may end up with half of the details.

I barely trust my own eyes and observations these days.
I doubt there is any single accurate news outlet.
Like most of you, I scan many sites, read an article then search for more about the subject, then try to guess what's really going on.

This is really going to roll some eyes but I look at and think hard about the opinions from most of the folks here. Even when the discussions and politics are at odds, both sides usually convey some interesting information, ideas, and outlooks on events and situations.

I watch both FOX and MSNBC along with CNN, then try to make some kind of decision afterwards. Sometimes I may see how many days the same story runs and how much new info is added. But, at the end of the day I take most of it with a grain of salt.

No big shock to this one. Looks like we all have pretty much the same plan. Conservative propaganda, + liberal propaganda, +www research, - spin %, / bullshit, + thread member input, = mostly true when filtered with common sense.
When accounts are tallied up, and the final history the U. S. Of A. is written I believe that the removal of religious beliefs from public discourse leading to the death of honor and personal integrity will be what signaled the first steps into decline.

one of the more reliable new sources on tv is one news now no commercials so just the news... as for all the other news outlets fox is about the only one but even a limited amount.... reality is its comes down to rateings and money... as far as onlne IMO Breibert is probably the most reliable.. DC Clothline has a variety of writers that contribute so its pretty good source..
every news service weather online or tv has an angel even some of the right wing services no matter what is happening its turned into their slant.. so some where in all the clutter the truth is hidden so i piece it together with the help of forums like this and other sources... and just opinions of like thinkers... now that the net nutrality is upon us i fear the fedcoats now have complete control of ALL the news services and their censorship will be cool aid for the sheep...

You know the saying "trust but verify. If you can't verify, shoot"? Yeah well I skip the first part with lawyers and newsies. Since you can't shoot the tv and hope it still works I trust nothing from the news and nothing that the person I'm talking to didn't see first hand. The old game telephone is in effect for any information gained or given.

I had kind of an odd thought, nothing new for me especially since I've bean up for the past 17 hours. But whatever.
This is it. I believe we are more aware of what's really going on in our world than most. But what if it's not because we a more informed, but because we are simply less misinformed?

I trust that the opinions on here are from those that actually BELIEVE what they post. Can't say that for the MSM!
