Well, I picked up one of those "Tactical" Mossberg 590a1s about a week ago.
While Ive been a 870 disciple for 50 years Remington seems to have lost its way recently so thought I would give Mossberg a shot.
I have to say that this thing is a tank. Everything a working shotgun should be, plus some.
Plus, it has black plastic furniture so now Im as cool as Sentry! ;D

WHOOO HOOO Native awesome pick up.. now we can say your officially tactiCOOL...  :o :o.. BUT really i think your going to be really happy with the mossberg.. I like you have been a remington man for a long time but lately with the recalls and issues with other thinkgs they'v been doing iv ben looking for alternatives.. I do have an 87o tho that 20+ years old and from that batch of guns i do believe my kids will be getting a working functioning shot gun..  iv got the stevens 320 tac shotty im happy with it but worry about the longetivity but for now it'll have to do...

Good for you Native. I to have an 870 and A Stevens 320. Like them both. Mt Dad was a Remington Man, so I am too. Mossburg has always been solid. Kind of like Chevy or Ford.

I too agree Remington has been slipping lately. What I've been doing for a while is purchasing police trade ins, then refinishing them and outfitting them as desired. Comes out to be less or as much as a new shotgun, plus you get a rock solid gun that will out last you and be exactly as you want. The older 870s are tanks, internals are near perfect, barely broken in.

I read yesterday thet remington is changing it CEO...they got rid of their current one.. it think remington is realizing the same thing... that we here have voiced...
