: New show The Boonies on National Geographic.
: catfishn January 29, 2016, 01:51:57 PM
Did anyone watch the new show, The Boonies this week?  It's another "living off the grid, loner, survival, etc" type of show, that follows the lives of people who have chosen to live off the grid.  I thought it was OK, but will reserve judgment until another couple of episodes.

Seemed pretty good to me. I have to admire anyone willing to do what a lot of us really wanted to do but never worked up enough  backbone to actually do.

Yup, or just can't do it because of other obligations.

There are so many of those shows on.  I've kind of lost interest in them because of the overexposure of them.

That is for sure.  Networks are lazy, and will milk a the hot concept until it runs dry.

Seems off grid is becoming more mainstream. Some of the shows have good info, some are entertaining, some just a waste.

Nope. We got rid of the satellite over three years ago.
We have an antenna that gets us Jacksonville broadcast stations, but we just watch local news/weather and several times a week the nightly national news.
There is so much more to life than the TV. It did take me a few months without it to realize it, though. 8)

Actually, a show about Honey Boo Boo and her family surviving a winter in the Alaskan wilderness sounds pretty good.  I'd watch it.

It's not all that good.  It's very similar to Live Free or Die.

We could hope they can't find food and freeze to death.  :'(
